Top Plate...
One of the cool side benefits of building the double wall is the 11" top plate that also serves as a nice catwalk to move around for the next step of Rim Boards and I-Joists...
Just worked a half day with the rain today. Worked out nice as I had my laundry to do in town and several errands.
Nicer weather is on the way!!!

Double Walls...
With Jake's great help, we were able to get all the interior perimeter walls up - making an 11" cavity for insulation...

Another Rainy Day...
Took today to run errands, do laundry, get groceries, and make a cut list for each wall of the house as my lumber arrives tomorrow morning, and hopefully, the rain goes away...

What an Afternoon...
I thought that I was going to have a chance to relax after my early morning concrete cutting in the rain, but alas, no.
My hot water heater in the RV had stopped working and I went inside to figure out what I could when I discovered a new water feature in the center of the RV ceiling - all around the A/C was pouring water from the over half inch of rain we got today...
Shit.
Had some left over Vapor Barrier from the slab and managed to secure it up top with several long length 2x6's as the accompanying wind wouldn't allow the simple placement of the plastic.
Having finished that, I returned to the task of fixing the H2O heater, and after some investigation it turns out that one of the leads from the Dino Box had broken - was then informed by the local propane company that I could find the part in Okanogan or Wenatchee - hoping for something closer, they suggested trying the Riverbend RV park outside Twisp. I called and they said to bring the Dino Box in and see if it might match the one they had - long story short, Ed - the owner of the RV park, soldered a new tab on my old ignitor box instead of selling me a $125 new Dino Box - THANKS ED!!!
Now, after putting this pictured securable new tarp, and soaking myself to the bone doing it, I get a nice warm shower - YAHOO!

Score!!!
Got out there a little before 6 (Sorry Neighbors) in hopes of beating the rain, but merely ended up making sure I was there to meet it ; )
The rain actually helped in the scoring of the concrete as it kept the blade wet and cool - it went well. I flipped the GFI a few times and thus started holding on to the cord junction as I cut the concrete to keep water from getting in to the plugs - worked real well until just about the last cut when everything was so wet, including my gloves, that I became part of the electrical circuit ; )

Foundation complete!
Thank you, J.R. and the crew at 5 Star Concrete - looks great!
Now hopefully I can keep it wet enough as this lovely wind tries to suck the moisture out of it a bit too quickly...

Random pics from the day...
Since I am sure you are not interested in seeing pics of me moving gravel, cutting re-bar, or placing bolts ; )
Our view, South...
The Tree I designed the house around...
I don't know the name of this small flower, but they are popping up all over the property...
This is called an Elegant Cat's Ear...

Morning Ride...
Went out on the Cross Bike and rattled myself for 4 hours...
Took this pic at the end of Pipestone Canyon next to a great Bouldering Rock...
Set the camera on the ground and hit the timer - it appears the camera auto focus was on the grass, not me - probably for the best as the snot on my face was not so visible ; )
