Spent much of the first part of the ride racing the rain, and then it cleared...

Sprayed on the acid stain over the concrete floor this morning, and spent the rest of the day neutralizing it and rinsing, and rinsing, and rinsing...

You will not see the final color of it until after I seal it on Monday ; )

Getting ready for tomorrow...

The roof is complete, and I am getting ready to stain the downstairs concrete floor...

It's all vacuumed, and ready for a good mopping in the morning, then possibly the first application of the acid stain...

A successful day...

We got all the roofing down and all of the trim, except the ridge...

Perfect day, as it was cool and no showers - mid 90's coming by the end of the week, and I am glad I will not be up on the roof then ; )

Somewhere there is a very sleepy mouse...

I keep a half of a sleeping pill next to my pillow at night, just in case.

Last night when I went to bed I kept feeling a mouse run over my lower legs and occasionally under the covers.  I eventually fell asleep, and when I woke up this morning this was all that was left of the sleeping pill near my pillow...

With the hot weather coming and the increasing familiarity with the mice, I believe it's time to start sleeping in the garage...

A rainy Monday...

Completed all the house framing today, including the "tub" section of the rooftop deck that will be covered with a rubber membrane and a separate deck framed above at a later date...

Short Sunday...

Finished the entry today, and will frame the deck above on Monday...

Only the deck and some odds 'n ends and the framing will be complete.

Worked on some odds 'n ends...

Then started to frame the entry so that I can start framing the deck above this space next week...

Great ride today!

Both the bike and I were feeling good out there.  Lots of climbing, and a prefect combination of dirt and pavement...

So the weather didn't clear...

But here's pics of the upstairs framed walls.  A little trickier with the slanted ceiling...

I need to nail in a couple of drywall studs, but other than that most of the interior walls are up.

Two weeks ago...

I took this pic of my calves a week after my "mistake" ; )

Wasn't going to post it unless it resolved itself - and it has.  But, I wanted you to see what I would look like if I had normal human size calves... or calf.

A good day...

Nice to have a day of minimal frustrations...

Finished the last three interior perimeter walls - it's like framing a slightly smaller house inside a larger one ; )

Just passin' though...

THe opposite of yesterday...

It's interesting with how some aspects of construction you foresee as taking longer or shorter than others.  Such as the sheathing and ice guard we put down yesterday - took much less time than I anticipated - even having done it last year with the garage.  But, today's work - the upstairs interior walls, we were only able to complete the south wall - it does have 8 openings, and had to be lifted into a sloped ceiling, but even so, it gave us more than our share of fits...

Here's to a smoother day tomorrow ; )

We sheathed the whole roof and applied the Ice Guard  in a short, yet exhausting day...

Trying to beat the rain that didn't show, but it looks like it will eventually be with us for the week...

Finished all the roof trimwork, etc., so I decided I would put down the first "ceremonial" piece of roof sheathing - okay, it's a half piece, but it still counts...

Tomorrow, we will hopefully get the roof completely sheathed as the weather does not look promising for this week, and I might have to delay putting on the ice guard and roofing.

Still plenty of interior walls that I can work on ; )

Weekend's duty...

Denise headed back to San Francisco this morning, so I went on a ride so that if anyone saw me crying, they would think it was just cause I was riding real hard ; )
