Finally a hike...

And well worth the wait!

Temps in the upper 70's, the Larch changing color, fantastic!

Trim...

Pre-painted, installed, nail holes filled, sanded, edges caulked…  Upstairs and down.

Ready for touch up paint tomorrow!

Two new family members...

A Scotch and and Ponderosa Pine…

I'm taking a break today from interior trim.  Will resume tomorrow…

Fireplace...

I was able to get the remote for the fireplace to work - lights and fans…

Just lights...

Lights and flames…

Just flames…

More flames and taller flames if I turn the thermostat up.

I'll put the trim pieces on soon.

First shower...

In new house.

I'm saving the Master Bath for Denise, but I was very happy with my first shower in the utility bath - decent pressure, nice head height.

Beats the RV for showers ; )

Propane...

Sucked it up and opened the propane line valves and started the water heater and fireplace.  It took a little time, but both work now and the house didn't explode, or burn…

I took off the glass cover, let the bees out, took off the bottom plate and inserted six halogen bulbs into their slots, replaced the plate and covered it with glass pieces and rocks, then put the glass cover back on.

I still need to put the trim piece around, but first I have to mate the remote for the interior lights and blowers - I'll do that tomorrow most likely…

Finished my ride and came home to a Stag Party...

Very handsome!!!

Carpet...

Carpet was installed yesterday - a 13 hour install.

Love the carpet and fairly happy with the install except for the light across a seam shows itself - at night under the electric lights it looks perfect, Mother NAture reveals all our imperfections ; )

Trim...

Painting MDF trim the same color as the walls to make subtly blend in.

I have the 25 16' pieces laid out in the increasingly shrinking garage while the upstairs of the house is being carpeted - pics of that later…

Hardscaping...

Had a dozen large boulders moved about and the yard leveled out a bit from the northwest corner of the house, raising it about 3 feet.

With some landscaping, I hope we can get a more tucked in feeling for the living room…

Passed Final!!!

Still have quite a bit to do, but it's nice to have this behind me...

Pulled the internet dish down and removed the pole...

Can you see the new installation location - from the living room perspective...

Had to pull a door...

It was an interior air lock door for the entry - once installed (with difficulty), and ready to install the hardware I noticed the threshold had been installed crooked.  Removed the door, tried to fix it, but straightening it pulled the screws from the opposite jamb and cracked the side jamb.

Oh well, we wanted a solid fir door anyways ; )

Turned on water to all fixtures...

A couple of dribbles, but all easily tightened, thus far ; )

Second Bath/Laundry Room...

Shower/Tub controls and door...

A smiling selfie...

The first longish ride for me in almost two months...

My Methow Cross Tour...

Blue skies, pavement, gravel, dirt...  fun!

Massive thunderstorms last night...

And the accompanying massive flooding since the fires wiped out all the vegetation.   Highway 20 and 153 are both blocked with mudslides and debris flows across the roadways - Highway 153 with a hundred yard wide flow, five feet deep.

What a Summer!!!

Here is a pic by Kathy Gunn-Bennett of Benson Creek last night...

I started the shower enclosure...

Installed the bottom rails first, then the two side glass panels...

Had to do a little customization with the rod supports to make sure they hit the wall studs...

Installed the hinges for the door tomorrow...

I was just finishing the work on the water seals for the door when an unexplained boom shook the house - and it now appears all of Twisp, but not up into Winthrop.

Very strange as I was sure something very large had crashed on to my roof - I was running around the inside and outside of the house like a wild man looking for what had happened - nothing.

To the benefit of my sanity, I found dozens of people posting on the various online boards in regards to this strange event - no conclusions as of yet...
