Also, tired of all the drywall, I installed a cedar decorative wall like the one downstairs framing the inner entry door…

Again, the sealer on the counters, darkened them making them a better match for the mirror...

Cutting some boards outside this morning and heard the gas burner fire in the distance…

This map shows fire or thermals on our side on the river, but our neighbor sees NO FIRE at this point - so just high temps at this time must have been detected.

Gusty winds from the NW at 25 mph and expected to shift to from the West - which we could do without...

Really hoping we get through this one...

The nearby towns of Twisp and Winthrop have been issued with immediate evacuations - another mass of fires headed our way.

Luckily we are safe and by chance out of the Valley.

Really hope to see this standing when we return...

Along with the excessive hot temps, we have had a dramatic increase in wasps and yellow jackets - and they are very aggressive right now.  3 stings thus far.

Hopefully it stays over by the lake and burns itself out…  Hopefully.

I was at least excited to spend the evening in the air-conditioned theatre, until midway through the 2nd act when I noticed I was sweating bullets in my costume.  Turns out a few of the scantily dressed audience members complained of being too cold…  Thanks ; )

Got this up today - 1x12 cedar that I used on the exterior - except without any stain…

Not sure if I will keep it this way or put on a light stain.

The stain second to the right matches most closely the door it will surround...

I like it.  We were going to make various Ikea units work in this space but Ikea made it a nightmare - from ordering online fails to shipping costs to picking up a thousand various pieces in the store.

So we did this and I think it is great…
