Another wave of heat coming...

And between the Quail, the Hummingbirds, and Grumpy Jr. here, it's quite a task keeping their special drinks available and at the ready…

Open birch cabinet up...

Open floating shelves will occupy the opposite side of the sink - just need to find some cool rustic wood for the shelves…

Interior entry door surround...

Got this up today - 1x12 cedar that I used on the exterior - except without any stain…

Ready for finish...

Open kitchen cabinet received the birch banding and is ready for some finish tomorrow…

Interior entry door surround...

Going to put cedar around the interior door.  Here it is unfinished...

Not sure if I will keep it this way or put on a light stain.

The stain second to the right matches most closely the door it will surround...

An upper cabinet box...

For the kitchen.  It will be open.  Just waiting for more birch banding to arrive so that I can finish this…

Master Bath closet...

Clothes towers and bases nearly finished.

Need to put the veneer banding on the clothes towers and apply a final coat of finish - then off to the closet…

Laundry room shelves...

Elfa.

I like it.  We were going to make various Ikea units work in this space but Ikea made it a nightmare - from ordering online fails to shipping costs to picking up a thousand various pieces in the store.

So we did this and I think it is great…

How do you say "Screw Ikea" in Swedish…

Is it a built-in if...

I built it elsewhere?

One of two shelf towers for the Master Closet.  Again, Birch with which I will adhere veneer to the edges, sand and finish…

Trimmed and shaped...

I'll fine tune the mustache as the costume designer wishes, but now I am ready for the wig!!!

I'm practicing my British face - just pretending I'm taking a shit…  (Right, Anton?)

For Honey-Bunny...

My caterpillar mustache…

Going in right now to trim and shape it for the show - will post a pic of that soon.

Everybody in town is scared of me  - but, why?

Pulls arrived early...

Not supposed to be here for another week and a half - Yay!

Finished the closet doors today and hung them…

Pretty much finished...

With the table...

This morning's progress...

I was able to get the table and island together…

Leveling, bracing, drilling to connect the island with the table...

Gluing and clamping the VG Fir to the frame…

And alas, the countertop material - which I creatively managed to get on the table by myself…

After lunch, I'll strip the clamps and put the finish on the fir - hopefully it will then differentiate itself a bit more form the birch body of the island…

Lots of little things...

All I needed to finish the table material was a 31" 2x6 - nothing.  I didn't want to run to the lumber yard for one 2x6, so I am splicing together two 2x4's, and then cutting them down - Thrifty? Lazy? Stupid?..

The base for the island...

One of the tow 6x6 legs to support the non-island end of the table...

Epoxied the guides for the closet doors that I made...

The beginning jumbles of the island/table...

Putting the island part of the combo together...

This birch island opening will face the opposite wall and eventually have a long table attached to it…

A work in present progress…

Final coat of finish and mesh screen...

Closet doors are finished except for the hardware - which will take some time to arrive, so I am setting them aside so that I can start on the kitchen island-slash-table, which I have to remember to build in the space it will occupy, otherwise it might not, or actually, will not fit through the front door.

First coat of finish...

Is finished…

The two sets of closet doors - the laundry room and master bath.

More work on these ahead…

Babies!!!

I haven't seen many deer on the property this Summer…

Mommas were all keeping their babies hidden - until this morning.

Two sets of twins running around like crazy rabbits.

Doors initial sanding...

Initial sanding complete.  I will bring these four doors into the house in the morning - when it is cool, and do a little fill work, some light sanding and then brush a finish on them.

I'm waiting for the door hardware, so I decided to get them in the house so I could use the garage to start on the custom kitchen table/counter.

The birch ply for the table/counter is behind the door panels - pretty!!!

Biscuits and gravy...

Started biscuit-joining/gluing the closet doors together today…

I'll have a bit of sanding to do...

Phlegm, phlegm, phlegm...

Although I worked over the weekend, I spent a majority of time taking it easy when I wasn't at rehearsal - trying to get rid of the migrating congestion as it moved from my chest to my head.

Didn't feel much like posting or taking pics.

But do today.  Here's a pic of the initial cuttings of the VG Fir that I will be using to make the closet door frames…

Beautiful, but chippy wood.

Closets and hangers/rod...

I put up the closet valances today, which hide the sliding door hardware…

And a trial of this nickel clothes rod in the open closet of the mudroom…

Not sure if it couldn't be more rustic…

Did I tell you that I love my Suby...

The lumber on top has a higher retail value than my old pal, but I do love it so…

Especially now that I have A/C again!  Now I just need to get rid of the notorious Subaru "death tick" - the supposed valve ticking that can go on for hundreds of thousands of miles…

The wood on top is Birch plywood for my kitchen table/counter base cabinet box, a fir 6x6 for two of the legs, and lots of VG fir for the closet doors.

Yeah!!! I have A/C and heat available again in my Ru!

It pays to be a talker - at the lumber yard yapping about not being able to get to the last of the mouse beddings in my Subaru's heating/cooling system, and Ken at MVL tells me he had a '91 and had the same issue - showed me a very easy way to drop the fan, and voila'…

I've had the A/C running for about an hour now - it's stinky air, but it's COLD stinky air, and getting better ; )
