Finished readying the deck for the EPDM tomorrow - sandwiched a 1/2" of rigid insulation on the deck subfloor, put in the scupper, and caulked the hell out of everything for the fun of it...
Securing the scupper as the caulk dries...
The scupper drain poking through the exterior wall...
Finished house wrapping the entry...
So I must ask.... why insulation for a deck?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Brooks - I missed this comment.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why the insulation - I copied the suggestions of an old Fine Homebuilding article about roofs over living spaces. 1/2" of insulation is not much, as in the actual ceiling for the room below I will have 5 1/2" of expanding foam.
I also sandwiched the insulation with OSB for the base of the EPDM because the local lumber yard told me their adhesive manufacturer didn't recommend rigid insulation as a substrate for the rubber.
All in all, I tried to do everything I could that would prevent the roof deck from leaking into the entry/mudroom below ; )
